I haven't told you where I'm from yet! This is probably vital information, I should think. If I'm talking about what I'm up to then it would be good to know where exactly these things are taking place! I live in Greenisland which is about 8 miles north of Belfast, Northern Ireland, along the coast. I have lived in Dublin and Paris for university and I love travelling in general. Right now, however, I'm home, and this is ok... for now...
So, yesterday I went to an Anne Frank Exhibition in The Mill at Mossley (also north of Belfast) It's near Gengormley if you're wondering. It's actually the Newtonabbey Council building and they've redone it all, they've even built a theatre. It looks really great.
Anyway back to Anne. The exhibition was pretty good. I already knew her story, we all know a bit about it of course, whether we have read the diary or not. Her story - and the story of the Jewish people at that time - is still so hard to believe and as one of my friends commented afterwards, we need to be reminded about it - and to get our heads round it. Everytime I think about it it is mind-blowing that it actually happened and this was the Twentieth Century! I know this has all been said before but still. The exhibition is moving to Lisburn City Library today. I would recommend checking it out.
"We’re all alive, but we don’t know why or what for; we’re all searching for happiness, we’re all leading lives that are different and yet the same." - Anne Frank
She was a brilliant, intelligent writer, forward-thinking (and also a feminist :) ).

New blog :)
When I decided to start writing a blog I thought I needed to choose a subject, one single interest, and talk about it but then I realised – and I hope it’s true – that I can just talk about what I love (or hate) and it can be about a mixture of things. I will probably stick to main topics though – music, literature, and a bit of “fashion” thrown in too. (Really just random items of clothing I like!) Oh, and the occasional feminist rant probably. But don’t let that put you off. I am doing this solely for my own enjoyment.
I suppose I will give you a brief introduction to myself. I have just finished a Masters in Modern Poetry and am working part-time in the evenings so I have a bit of free time at the minute, hence the blog-writing. Anything else I can think of to tell you, I will. Ultimately, I just like writing and I want to get back into it. (Writing a diary all those years would just be a waste if I didn’t!)
I have just noticed that today is the 1st of October. Seems pretty fitting to start something new at the beginning of the month.
